Recovery and Enrichment of Platinum from Spent Al2O3 Carrier Catalysts by Matte Smelting-Acid Leaching Process

Recovery of platinum from spent catalysts can meet the comprehensive recycling secondary resources. and enrichment Al2O3 carrier catalyst using matte smelting for pyrite-acid leaching process were studied. In melting process, effects pyrite, CaO, quartz sand, Na2B4O7 dosage on recovery rate Pt investigated. effect H2SO4 concentration, temperature, time, liquid/solid (L/S) ratio enriching efficiency was also The slag, iron matte, residue analyzed XRD. molten content in slag measured an atomic absorption spectrometer. experimental results showed that 98% obtained under following optimum conditions: 1400°C 50 min 1 : 2 mass pyrite to catalysts, 0.5 CaO sand raw material with conditions, which include 15% Na2B4O7. Moreover, acid more efficient concentration 1.8 mol/L, time 70 min, temperature 60°C, L/S 10 1. achieved at disappearance FeS during acid-leaching process.
